Masteroast Golf day 2015

Tuesday 16th June 2015 saw the arrival of the 14th Masteroast Golf Day at Greetham Valley.

Good weather and some outstanding golf play was ordered…..the course was in exceptional condition, not so sure about the golfers! However, the sun did shine, making the Pimms a very popular choice at the Halfway House.
It was another fantastic turnout, and the generosity of everyone that attended was second to none, with over £1500 being donated, by players on the day, to Hospital At Home.

Along with all the additional sponsorship, a grand total of £3570, including a very generous further £500 from the winner, was raised for the charity – an unprecedented amount very gratefully received by Dee George on behalf of Hospital At Home.

And so, a few hours, a few miles and a few sunburnt faces later, after some re-fuelling in the form of a superb dinner, the prizes were announced by our long time Master of Ceremonies, Dennis (Big Mac) MacNamara.
For the men – a fantastic win for Edward Whitehead of Plasto-Sac, closely followed by Richard Hunter, Hunter’s Tea and Coffee and Phil Taylor, Little Coffee Bag, in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
And for the ladies, to add to her previous years’ placed finishes, a great win for Select Coffee’s Julie Lightowler, followed by Penny Gilbert of The Pallet Network (Anglia), and Masteroast’s Eve Mills in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The team prize went to Team 18 with a finishing score of 96. Congratulations to Masteroast’s Colin Mole, Alex Rogers, AGC Commodity Store, Edward Whitehead, Plasto-Sac and Greetham Valley MD Robert Hinch.
Nearest the Pin was won by Masteroast’s own Alex Dalton (he’s still going on about it!). Longest Drive went to Phelam Curr, of Morbeans, Birdie prize to Edward Whitehead of Plasto-Sac and the Boobie prize to the one and only Masteroast MD, Andy Fawkes.
The night (for some, the early hours of the morning!) was whiled away at the bar with stories of missed shots and snakes on the 18th green, with some I’m sure claiming that next year will be their year………… We will see you there to find out.
