JUNIOR CREATIVE ARTWORKER

About us
Masteroast Coffee Company Ltd. is an independently owned coffee roasting and packing facility,
offering an unrivalled range of coffees and private label packing solutions since 1981. With over 35 years of expertise, experience.
This is a great opportunity for a Creative Artworker to really create their mark in the coffee and design industry this would ideally be suited to someone who would like increase their experience and understanding of the coffee world.

GRAPHICS AND DESIGN
Core Responsibilities: Managing label artwork for new and existing customers. Preparation of labels for production. Communication by phone and / or email or in person with new and existing customers. Web design.
Key Tasks:
  • Develop labels and printed packaging artwork for a variety of clients.
  • Understand and apply graphic style rules and standards.
  • Maintain a high visual standard; match, set and assist others in maintaining this standard.
  • Work closely with sales to develop creative solutions for their clients and be confident in presenting ideas.
  • Peer review others work.
  • Any other duties as reasonable requested.
  • Liaise with new and existing customers by phone and or email regarding existing and new design and preparation.
  • Meet with customers at Masteroast to plan label artwork.
  • Produce labels for Production department.
  • Web design and amendment as required by Chairman and Managing Director.
  • Assist with label and print room related I.T. issues.
Competency :
Education: Graphics and I.T. background and/or qualification.
Work / Skills: Must be able to organize. Good attention to detail.

QUALITY ASSURANCE CO-ORDINATOR

Core Responsibilities: Implement effective quality systems and audits to ensure company procedures are adhered to and compliance standards met.
 
Key Tasks:
  1. Development and maintenance of systems to ensure compliance of food safety requirements which include the following schemes:
  • H.A.C.C.P.
  • B.R.C.
  • Soil Association
  • Fairtrade
  • Rainforest Alliance
  1. Traceability and investigation of customer complaints
  2. Day to day Q.C. of production activities
  3. Internal and customer specifications and compliance documentation requested by customers
  4. Internal audits.
  5. Assist department on all regulatory internal/external processes, audits and visits.
  6. Ensure all employees comply with G.M.P. and hygiene procedures
  7. Carry out finished goods checks ensuring with standards.
  8. H.A.C.C.P. team member
  9. Contribute to the ‘Continuous Improvement’ of Quality System.
  10. Keep up to data with legislation via trade associations, government sources such as FSA, and BCA and subscribing to newsletters.
Competency :-
Education/Experience:-
Food science or similar relevant degree.
At least 1 years experience in Q.C. with knowledge and application of B.R.C in the food industry. Computer literate.
Strong communication skills.
Flexible in terms of working hours.
Good attitude.
Work / Skills:
Must be able to organize.
Good attention to detail.
Must be able to drive through change where required. 

PACKING MACHINE OPERATOR

​Core Responsibilities: Packing of products in accordance with the packing specification (packing sheets) in a manner that complies with legislative/Food Safety and Accreditation/Quality systems and requirements. In addition work in a safe manner in accordance with Health and Safety rules.

Key Tasks:
  1. Manage the operation of the Packing Machine and the activity of the Packing Operative. These activities to conform to Food Safety and Health and Safety requirements.
  2. Complete all paperwork allocated to ensure strict details of all packing activities and associated traceability. These to conform with B.R.C , Organic, Fairtrade and R.F.A. accreditation requirements
  3. Notify the Production Supervisor or Manager or Q.A. of any issue that does not conform to the specifications/packing sheets or the requirements of our accreditation process.
  4. Ensure all product and raw materials are clearly labelled for identification purposes and recorded for traceability purposes.
  5. Within the Quality and Safety standards run lines to achieve maximum output with minimum use of time/labour/materials. This to be achieved by producing product and final packaging that conforms to customer requirements.
  6. Contribute in your working practices to the yearly reductions of 5% in ‘complaints per 100 orders’.
  7. Advise the Supervisor or Engineer of any mechanical issues and/or complete the usual job sheet giving full details.
  8. Operate on a ‘clean as you go’ basis at all times.

Competency :
Education:  Some mechanical aptitude and number literate. Good understanding of written and verbal English.
Work / Skills: Must be able to organize. Strong attention to detail.
