Things that would help our designers

Designs created externally

What size products will you be buying?
I.e. 1kg, 500g, 250g etc. We can perhaps create a product template for these labels
in advance.

What colour/material bag?
We have a large selection of bags to choose from, take a look here!

What colour scheme or theme are you after?
Bright, dark, vibrant, playful, simple, corporate, clean and tidy, complex, floral, vintage etc.

Who are your customers?
We often look to your websites and assimilate the design with the label design, however you
may be targeting a specific demographic of your customer base.

What is your deadline?
What are your expectations for finishing the first draft designs, a realistic time scale for a new
product would be around 7 working days.
If you have had your designs created externally and have all the required permissions to edit them then we have the software and know how to make all future edits helping you keep your design costs down.

After receiving your design brief in full we aim to work on your design and send it back
to you within 7 working days, any edits after this time would be made priority to complete the product ready for sale.

We can accept files in many different shapes, sizes and formats and can convert them as necessary to your label, see Labels for more details.

If you have any questions regarding all things design, pop over to the Product Development contact page.

Recommended Artwork Specifications

Preferred file formats for printing:
We would prefer vector based artwork saved as an EPS (Encapsulated Post Script), AI (Adobe® Illustrator) or a PDF (Portable Document Format). These maintain the highest visual fidelity of any format and are always welcome.

Other good formats include PSD (Adobe® Photoshop®), JPG (High Resolution JPEG), or TIFF (High Resolution TIFF). These are generally of a lower quality but are still acceptable formats providing they are of a high enough resolution.

Lower Quality file formats:
The following formats are rarely high quality and are difficult to print to a certain resolution avoid where possible. Artwork should be expected to be of lower quality if provided in these formats, they are: Word, Power Point, Excel, Corel Draw, & INDD (Adobe® InDesign) unless exported to PDF. We would always inform you of any artwork limitations before going to print so you are aware of the expected quality.

Vector Files:
Often referred to as Line Art, Vector is the best format to save an image, it is mathematically scalable to any size and never losses resolution, images will stay crisp and clean no matter what size you choose to print them. Photos should not be converted to vector as a jpeg raster image is a more suitable format for this file type.

Raster Files/Images:
Raster files are basically pixel based images the standard resolution a photo should be for print purposes is 300DPI (Dots per square inch), The best formats for these to be saved are JPG, or TIFF. When sending us an image/file be sure to copy the image completely and not a thumb nail, these compressed versions would not be sufficient for print.
