Coffee Sourcing
Quality starts with the cultivation of the bean and Masteroast sources over fifty different types and grades from the three major regions of Central/South America, Africa and Asia and beyond.
Our people and network of professionals understand that good coffee is good business. We build strong working relationships to secure reliable, sustainable supplies of high quality coffees on ethical terms, including Fairtrade, Organic and Rainforest Alliance Certified Coffees.
This programme has lead us to visit many origins over recent years, including:
Central/South America - Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Cuba
Africa - Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia
Asia - India, Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi
This ensures not only great coffees, but also the great story behind them.
The raw coffee is transported by sea directly from the countries of origin to our bonded warehouse on the River Thames, using sealed shipping containers within which the environment is controlled to our exacting standards.
Once landed the coffee is brought up to our roastery in Peterborough every week where it is quality checked and cleaned before being stored for use in one of our 40 dedicated silos.
